About Norma

I have been an active member of Music Teachers National Association; Florida State Music Teachers Association and Mid-State Music Teachers Association since 1969 teaching piano, theory, voice and organ. I instill many skills in every student of different personalities and learning styles from age 5 to adults. My students have participated in many challenging competitions and recitals earning honors in Aural, written theory and in performances.

I love teaching music whether it's piano or voice to others. It is a pleaure to watch and observe my students perform in front ot others whther it's a recital or a competition and to see them make the highest honor score possible by their performance. When I see my student's eyes light up saying "Hey! I've got it!" is the greatest satisfaction any teacher could want. I love music and personally perform many styles while entertaining others in various cities in the evenings.

I began teaching many years ago because of my love for music. I have taught piano, voice and organ. At agee 13, I won the National Vocal Contest to be understudy for a famous artist in New York. I began studying piano in college and was fortunate to start giving lessons soon after my studies.



I have trained musically at USF, U of Fl., Fl State and U C.  I constantly am in training with workshops, etc. to advance my knowledge.

First to make a student feel comfortable with me and the surroundings. When at ease, the greatest learning begins.  



My youngest has been 4 years of age and my oldest student hs been 85. I have worked with handicapped students who were deaf and worked under a Federal program to teach them how to play by Braill and touch. My students have been from various nationalities and I favor no one above the  other.



Someone who has been a teacher longer than just fresh out of college.



Being a judge for competitions and being able to give positive remarks about a students playing ability as well as areas he/she need to improve. It's exciting to see growth in a student from year to year.  



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Most students feel uneasy about being able to learn but when a teacher impliments ways to learn in easily understood, any student who is willing to practice simple directions will learn.

Yes, because of my belief in offering music lessons to everyone, I keep my price lower than most teachers so I can reach those who really want to learn but are on limited means. My fee is not different for those who can afford the lessons.
