About Cassidy

I think that if a child beginning at any age enjoys practicing and wants to go to their lessons, as a piano teacher willing to go above and beyond to tailor each students curriculum to be one that includes songs they like, and want to learn, and also knowing if they learn the fundamentals, they can even go as far as music composition and writing their own music. With that said, it is sad to see piano so archaic it seems these days. However learning to play the piano properly now, makes any instrument they might decide to try later on between 60-80% easier to learn.

So in summary I would like to think I stand out because I try to make piano (taught properly) still something enjoyable, fun for kids and wanting to practice and can’t wait for their next lesson. I also believe in positive reinforcement. If they practice and also do theory homework, each lesson they earn a star. After 4 stars they get to pick a music related prize.

I enjoy the excitement a child has when they learn their first song, master a technique or new key in which a song is played. My biggest satisfaction is keeping a child engaged and making playing piano be something they enjoy, are proud of their accomplishments as they master new songs. I try to get to know each student from the time theyy begin lessons, and completely develop their curriculum to match all the way from fun upbeat song choices. Once further along they can actually choose from a custom list of songs I have compiled based on the specific undividual what THEY WANT to learn.
