About Adeoluwa

My name is Adeoluwa (Deolu) Ogunmefun. I am 21 years old and I have been playing the piano since I was 13. I am an Electrical Engineering masters student, but piano is always a part of me.

I enjoy watching new people learn the instrument. The joy on a persons face when they realize that it’s not as hard as they once thought and that they are getting the hang of it.

I just thought it would be a good thing to do in order to get more people playing the instrument that I love. Then one summer I thought it would be a fun thing to do to pass the time, and I started teaching my friends, and I went from there.

About the lesson

Usually I just ask what your level is (just a few basic questions like if you know the concept of scales). Once I get an idea of where you are, we can set up times that work for us, and agree on a price.

Students who have a basic background of music, and who know what notes the keys represent. Mostly, I’ve worked with people who wanted fast results so that they could play any song they like by themselves.

I teach people to play by ear, mostly because that’s how I was taught. So I would just like to ask that you bear that in mind when looking to hire me. I’m not a traditional teacher that will teach you from a book. As a matter of fact, in our first lesson I will try to teach you to play your favorite song

The pricing is really just based on the location and the time per lesson. I usually charge $20 for a 30 minute session. The first lesson is also for free, just to have a sense of whether you believe me to be the right fit
