About Susan

Happy Cat Pilates was established in 2006 in Colorado. The studio was recognized as Best Pilates Studio in East Boulder County for each of the years since its opening. Susie is a graduate of the world renowned Pilates Center of Boulder.

While in Colorado, Happy Cat offered multiple classes per day as well as private instruction. Now in Tucson, Happy cat is located in an historic home in the West University Neighborhood just west of University of Arizona. Susie offers private instruction on all of the Pilates equipment at an affordable price.

I love the ability to individualize sessions and give the one on one attention we all need. My knowledge base grows with every student. Seeing the progress people make amazes me and is infinately rewarding!

I experienced two herniated discs following the birth of my second child. After several years of severe pain and being told my only solution was to fuse my lumbar vertabrae, I found releif through Pilates. I was so inspired I quit my career as a Mental Health Professional and began the process of becoming Pilates Instructor.

My original training in 2005 consisted of 800 hours of study including the mat, reformer, chair, cadillac and auxillary equipment. I received a Master's Certificate from The Pilates Center of Boulder in 2014, and continued studying with Elders Amy Taylor Aplers and Rachel Taylor Segel weekly for four years.

About the lesson

A new client will be introduced to the Pilates history, methodology and equipment. The clients health will be discussed and an assessment of current needs and goals will be determined. A plan will be developed to help the client reach his or her goals.
