About Taylor

I like to get to know my students personally so they know that I truly care about them and their academic performance. I like to encourage my students so that they not only believe they can acheive their desired grade but know that they can.

I really enjoy seeing the pride in a student's eyes when they understand a concept that they previously could not grasp. I also like the confidence they gain after receiving a grade for classwork or a test that was better because of the work they put in.

I began tutoring in high school. A peer reached out to me with trouble in their Geometry class and I began meeting with them after school to tutor them. I also casaully help my friends understand their courses' concepts each semester as they have trouble.



I have taken high school Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry and have taken PreCalculus at both the high school and collegiate level. I am currently enrolled in Math Concepts.

Typically with new students I will give them a problem and see how they approach it. I will help as needed to reach the answer. This gives me an opportunity to see where they are with the material and in what areas they struggle. I will then walk them through a problem and give them one to do on their own.



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about the particular areas in which they are getting confused. I suggest taking a problem they have gotten wrong on a test or homework assignment to their teacher and have them take a look at it. This way their teacher can assess their needs and show the student where they are making a mistake with that particular problem.
