About Cheryl

I provide tutoring in a variety of subjects for different age groups from middle school through college. Assistance in courses such as history, social studies, government, psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, and business and are available. Various study techniques are taught.

I have mentored students for years. It has been a while since I specifically tutored anyone other than my brother, but it comes naturally to me.

I enjoy learning. My philosophy is that once a person stops learning, he or she might as well be dead. Really! I like to share my love of learning with others, as well as learn from them! Everyone has something that they can teach to another person.

I have worked as a lawyer for 30 years in southern Illinois. My main areas are family law and juvenile law. I also have a Master's degree in Social Work.

I have lived in Mississippi and Illinois, but I have traveled all over the world meeting new people, and learning about people and cultures. I have been to Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Scotland, and South Africa, among others.

Most people find me to be a knowlegeable, engaging person. I would be happy to share my passion for life and skills in education with you! I look forward to hearing from you soon.

About the lesson

I talk with the student to determine what his or her needs are and whether or not we might be a good fit. I have to believe that we will both be comfortable with each other in order to have a successful student teacher relationship. If we have chatted for a bit and feel comfortable with each other, we will get started!
