About David
I have been teaching writing (expository & creative), public speaking and acting for more than 30 years. I have a BA in English literature and theatre from Princeton University and an MFA in theatre directing from the University of Washington. A published author of two well-reviewed books and numerous articles, I am an expert and enthusiastic writing tutor.

As a writer, I am well aware of how vulnerable you are when you come to me with a draft to edit. My first priority is to get clear about what type of help and feedback you are seeking. What is the nature of the assignment? What needs to happen next? Then we take it further: what gets you excited about the material? What are you trying to say? I emphasize working from your strengths and your best ideas and supporting you through all phases of the writing process.
