About Jackson
Are you a a beginner trying to learn Python, SQL, or Excel, but don't know where to start? Or are you a student struggling with some fundamentals?
That's how I can help you. I won't claim to be the best programmer around, but I know the fundamentals and I can teach them well!
My name is Jackson and I'm a university student at NYU Shanghai and lifelong learner. In my free time I like to go through Khan academy or work on my data science skills over on Kaggle. Here's my LinkedIn if you're interested in viewing my proffesional history: (concealed information)
I got started teaching because I wanted to help provide friends and family with some basic coding literacy, but it quickly grew into a hobby of mine. There's nothing better than seeing a student have that "A-ha!" moment!
I'm a self-taught programmer, using a variety of resources, such as W3Schools, YouTube, DataCamp, Treehouse, and plenty of other learning services. Not only did this teach me how to code Python, but also how to teach it effectively.

I'm actually fairly new to being an official "tutor", but I have helped friends and family learn how to code. My process is fairly straightforward:
1) Start by getting them access to the tools they need and describing how things work.
2) Introduce a new concept and thoroughly explain what it does and how it works.
3) Provide a wide array of practice problems focusing on the new material. The only way to learn and master programming is through practice, practice, and more practice!
I primarily work with more beginner level students or people who haven't started and are interested in learning Python.
I'd recommend that Python students seek out someone who has a solid understanding of the material, as well as someone who makes it fun.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the biggest thing to look over is understanding the logic of your code. If you work with me, one of the first lessons is going through understanding code logic.
