About Bernadette
I love reading because it can take you any where in the world or any where in time. To prehistoric dinosaurs, funny cartoons, historic events & space age adventures. But without being good at reading, reading is NO fun. So I use proven teaching methods that work. They are easy & fun. I have been a teacher for 14 years. I have worked as a tutor, librarian & art teacher. I love it all! I believe in relating reading to childrens' interests so that they will be inspired! With my varied back ground, I can give them a wide variety of subjects & activities to choose from.
I have certifications & experiece in working with non-English speaking students as well as Eglish speaking students.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with an endorsement in reading, library & media, & visual art.
I have certification as a volunteer from the Valencia County Literacy Council which teachers non-English speakers to read
I worked for 4 years with Club Z in Home Tutoring in math & reading & included research, study & organizational skills
