About Cindy
I am passionate about education and learning. I have spent many years in elementary education as a teacher, literacy facilitator, assistant principal and principal, followed by work on the university level. I have an earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in reading. I am passionate about teaching children to read or to improve their reading as this opens doors to the world for them in all other subject areas.
I love the "a-ha" moments as children begin to see how reading works. Watching the joy as children begin to learn and improve is immeasurable!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Relations with teaching licensure. I also earned a Master's degree in Elementary Education. Most recently, I earned my Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Literacy. I am licensed as a K-6 teacher and K-12 Reading teacher in North and South Carolina.
