About Roxanne

I am a TESOL certified teacher with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages. I bring my understanding of many languages and how they connect and work together. I have many years of experience with Wordly Wise, and tutoring spelling and reading are my forte. I have been tutoring online for 5 years both children and adults.

I love absolutely everything. I love to see the growth in my students from the first day and how they have progressed. I miss having children around so I am thrilled to be able to help them. I love giving to others my knowledge and expertise.

I began in 2015 when my son had a severe concussion and had to stay out his entire last year of middle school. I enjoyed it so much that I continued online.

About the lesson

If it is a child I like for the child to get to know me so that I can make them feel confident around me. I make all my lessons fun and interesting and that will make the child feel more at ease. You can't be pushy and I read the child to see what approach is best.

I have worked with shy students as well as outgoing and insecure. I have also had a few that could not sit still for more than 10 minutes.

My advice is that we can make it fun while we learn. Making it fun will feel less as a "job", but something they want to do.

Every child to me is unique in their own way. There is no one event that has affected me more than another. All my memories are wonderful.
