About Gayle
I have a passion for helping students learn to read to ensure success in their academic pursuits. With over 25 years of experience working with students in both public and private schools, I have the knowledge and expertise to help struggling students reach grade level expectations and assist young learners in accelerating their educational success.
I have always had a passion for teaching. I began working with preschool-age children while owning and operating a childcare center for ten years. After returning to school to gain my certifications for teaching, I taught six years in a private school and 8 years in a public school.
I am a K-6 certified teacher with a reading endorsement.

About the lesson

New students are first assessed to determine the instruction needed to specifically meet their learning needs. A short interest/learning style survey is also used to identify how a student will best learn. A schedule for tutoring is then decided upon to include number of sessions/ days per week, and times that are most convenient for the student. Instruction will continue with progress monitoring to guide both the pace and content of instruction.
My entire educational career has been spent in Title 1 schools. I have worked with all types of students with different abilities. As a classroom teacher and as a reading coach I have helped struggling students and high achievers.
