About Elisa

I am a licensed teacher in Virginia who has been teaching in a public elementary school for twelve years. I love working with elementary students to review and strengthen the Virginia Standards of Learning for success in school.

I enjoy seeing students make progress, develop skills, and master the academic goals we have set.

I previously worked as a health care professional. Teaching is a second career for me.

I am a public school elementary specialist (English as a Second Languge) who works with students in grades PreK to grade 5. I have 12 years of experience and have participated in professional development courses every year to stay current and meet the needs of my students.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I first assess their areas of need and create a plan of instruction. I always communicate with the parents/guardians on the student's needs and progress.

I have worked with students from many different countries supporting them in reading, writing, oral language and math.
