About Kyla
I have a wide variety of experience in working with children. I have been an online ESL teacher for a little over a year. During this time, I worked with students from three years old to fifteen years old. I have also been a gymnastics coach in which I worked with students preschool-sixth grade. Finally, I worked at an elementary school as a special education assistant. I worked in class with individual students and groups of students in first through sixth grade. Much of the focus during my time as a speciel education assistant was in reading and some math.
I love working with children! It seems that, no matter which directions I turn, I always find myself drawn to helping children grow. I also love watching children succeed! I have learned how to understand my students and tailor my teaching style to match their needs. Every student learns differently and that is part of the joy of teaching young students, because I get to help them find their style and direction in life.
I began coaching gymnastics when I was a sophmore in high school. Since then, I have always loved working with children, which led me to a degree in Elementary Education.
I have my Bachelor's degree in General Studies with Concentration in Elementary Education. I also have the experience of working in an elementary school with children first through sixth grade.

When I begin working with new students, I like to spend a little bit of time gettting to know the student. Learning about their hobbies, what they like to do in their free time, and simply having some conversations to get comfortable with each and build a rapport.
I have worked with many different students! As I have mentioned, I coached gymnastics, which helped me to work with students in a different setting outside of the school setting. This has helped me learn how to build a strong relationship with students and really understand how they learn best. I worked in a school as a special education assistant, which led me working with students that were very far behind in school and needed quite a bit of support in all areas, including social.
