About Rye
I am a PhD candidate in the College of Liberal Arts at University of Minnesota (UMN). Although I enjoy writing and scholarship, I enjoy working with students above all. During my academic career, I've had the fortune of teaching courses ranging from introductory theatre classes to media studies classes. I've also worked as a student writing support consultant at UMN's Center for Writing. In these roles, I've assisted students students with a variety of projects including research papers and college application essays. My reward as a teacher comes from seeing my students succeed in their pursuits - whether that means getting into their first choice college, comprehending a difficult reading, or crafting a thesis statement they are proud of.
I am currently a PhD Candidate in the College of Liberal Arts at University of Minnesota and have had extensive training in all aspects of humanities scholarship (such as reading, writing, and research) and in pedagogy. I have experience working with students ranging from K-12 to advanced undergraduates on projects ranging from research papers to college admission essays.
