About Harris
I've been certified in certain reading programs that work for almost every child. Reading should be fun not hard and my results speak for themselves. Children first become better readers with me and then start having fun while they read
Because of my work with a summer camp, I was offered a position at a special education school for students with learning disabilities focusing primarily on reading.
Ten different master and graduate classes from California State University at Northridge in their special education teaching program

About the lesson

1st session is an observation session.
Student will read a book of their choosing as well as from a book that is part of their school curriculum.
I will then go home and evaluate how we will move forward with improving the students reading level.
2nd session I will implement with the student the processes that we will be working on every session to help them become a better and happier reader.
Sessions can continue until the student is fully confident with their reading abilities.
2nd grade through High School
The student should make sure the tutor has some formal certification from certain reading programs.
I've begun working virtually with my 11 year old niece in Chicago who is having difficulty reading and is needing extra help. I hope to revise this in a few months to update her progress.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask the teacher what their goals are for the student.
Student should also find out if the teacher is passionate about what they do.
Teaching reading isn't easy and the teacher needs to have lots of enthusiasm for what they are teaching.
If a student can learn this before the lessons begin, they should feel confident about learning reading from said teacher.
