About Megan

Hi! I'm Meg, a speech-language pathologist with an extra 30+ grad hour specialization in literacy disorders, dyslexia, ADHD, and language-learning disorders. I've worked at MIT for 2 years in a reading neuroscience lab, then Seattle Children's Hospital before starting my private practice. I accept insurance with most Aetna, Cigna, Premera, and Regence plans in COLORADO and WASHINGTON. In-network rates depend on your individual plan, but typically range from $10 - $40 a session. My out-of-network rate is $100/session.

Given the critical role of speech and spoken language when learning to read, children who have a speech or language disorder are at increased risk for a reading disorder. SLPs with extensive training in literacy make ideal professionals to work with reading disorders.

Ready to work on reading or story-telling? Great! Here's what it looks like.

First, we start with an evaluation. We'll look for the impact of language processing, speech sound processing, and different reading skills. We'll have a feedback session to chat through the results and make a game plan.

For therapy, I usually recommend at least 2x a week for reading if concerns are moderate to severe and 3x a week is the golden number to maximize progress.

Here's some of the tools I use. Treatment plans ALWAYS follow the science of reading :

-Orton-Gillingham program from The Carroll School

-RAVE-O

-Lively Letters

-Lindamood Bell Seeing Stars and LiPS

-The Barton System

-Lexia Core5

Check out my website (concealed information) to learn more. Let's connect and help your learner close the gap to their reading, writing, speaking, and story-telling potential!

I received my Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Truman State University, and Masters+30 in Speech Pathology with a specialization in literacy from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA.  This program is 1 of only 25 in the country accredited by the International Dyslexia Association.

I have graduate level training in literacy evaluations, research-aligned Orton-Gillingham and multi-sensory based interventions, literacy advocacy, and oral language.  I've participated in two literacy research labs and has completed two theses in the language-literacy continuum. I continue to stay up to date on literacy-related research, advocacy, and continuing education.

I work part-time as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Seattle Children's Hospital, and part-time following an entrepreneurship passion in language and literacy.

I've worked with learners ages 0-18 in early intervention, school, private clinic, and hospital settings.  My students have worked on being understood, expressing their ideas, reading, writing, and organizing their study and home lives.  Each of my students learns differently, which is why I feel so strongly about therapy customization.  Some of my students have had a learning disability, dyslexia, ADHD, executive dysfunction, Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Speech Sound Disorder, or language disorder.
