Experienced tutor in Reading in Washington, Steve and robin offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

Robin was truly amazing. She was extremely patient, persistent and determined in supporting my son. She gave him the building blocks he needed and changed his entire future in school.

I liked that my daughter learned how to read under a year. She struggled for years in the school system. My daughter loves books now. Thank you again!

The fact that get results!

This reading program is amazing. As kindergartners, our kids expressed the desire to read. Through some friends, we found this program and went in for an assessment. Robin explained the process and both my husband and I were intrigued by it. The program teaches the rules of reading - not just memorizing words. Robin did not required a long term contract and we thought "let's give it a try."

Both of our children went through the program in about 10 months (2 sessions a week). The results were amazing. After the first month we saw results.

They learned to decipher words based on the rules. Many times these were not words they have ever seen or heard off. They used the rules Robin taught to sound out the words - think phonetics with a lot more muscle. Some of these words included: curmudgeon, illustration, immunization, and pretentious. My kindergartners could read these words because they followed the rules - comprehension and understanding followed.

As a result of the program, both kids became avid readers early. I wished schools would incorporate this system in their curriculum as it truly give kids the tools to learn how to read, eliminating any frustration along the way.

I have known Mr.Steve Blaha and his wife Mrs.Robin of Academic Associates for well over 3 years now.
My son needed improvement in comprehension & vocabulary and so we joined steve’s school. Mr.Steve runs classes from his home for various kinds of students based on their need,
current skillset etc. We found Steve’s teaching to be completely “one-on-one, focused on each child” and works with their pace.
My son found it very helpful. His confidence has grown by leaps and bounds. He has improved so much in Vocabulary and Comprehension and also pronouncing the words correctly when reading a book.
He continues to learn under Steve today.

The consistency and dedication to help both my daughters become better readers.

Academic Associates is an awesome place for kids to start learning reading. My son Aarav was with Miss.Robin for several years and it was because of her that he now loves reading. The way reading is being taught here is just too good. I can’t compare this with any other place as they are simply the best!! I am glad my son started here at an early age and this definitely helped him through.

Robin and Steve taught three of my children, and they all now read far beyond their grade levels! I recommend academic associates to anyone who needs to learn to read.

Robin helped my son go from a non reader to reading chapter books! She helped him comprehend and teach him new words. She took the time and was very patient! I highly suggest coming here!
