About Beatrice
Hi There, my passion is teaching all ages how to sew 🪡
I have been in the fashion industry for over 15 years and i have been sewing since the age of 7.
Exclusive training is what you are getting at Beatrice Riley that’s what sets us apart - each class is tutored to your goal and a course outline is created for you to get there.
I’m experienced in apparel, cut and sew knit (jersey) I.e using the serger, pattern making, draping and some home decor.

I enjoy teaching kids and adults how to sew. I teach all industry tricks and I'm patient and precise!
I was at a craft fair promoting my custom dresses for kids and they were in awe of my work and someone asked me if I teach sewing. So I thought about it and I decided to try it out. I registered on take lessons and thumbtack of you would like to see my reviews.
I have a degree in fashion studies from parson school for design
pattern making certificate for childrenswear from fashion institute technology.
l have over 15 years of working for companies in the fashion industry as a technical designer.
I have been teaching students of all ages how to sew since 2014.

I would call or text the potential student and ask them what their goals are, their experience level, and if they know how to hand sew. Once they tell me their goals I create a course outline to get them to attain their goals. This all done at your own pace. It could be 1-3hr lessons either online or in my workshop.
I have worked with all ages of students both privately one online and also groups with kids of about 12 in a classroom.

Beatrice knows everything there is to know about sewing, from pattern making to garment construction to alterations. She is a methodical, calm and patient teacher and I learnt more in just one hour than I have learned over years with other classes. She teaches you the right way to do things from the start which helps avoid problems later. She has a great home studio set up and made great recommendations for what equipment I should get, and what skip. She’s also a lovely, friendly, kind person.

Details
I charge $35 an hour per lesson both online and in person. If you want me to come to you it will be $45 an hour.
Payment us made in an advance and I take Venmo, cash app or zelle.
