About Valarie
Although I am self taught, I have had a career in theatrical costume design and construction since 2015. I pride myself on being a patient, thorough, and fun teacher! I think sewing and the fiber arts is an essential art form everyone should know, and I'm more than excited to share my knowledge with others!
My favorite part of teaching is seeing the excitement in my students when they find their passion. Even though I enjoy teaching everything that has to do with sewing, I love teaching hand sewing, mending, embroidery, and crochet the most- I believe those are perfect places for beginners. Personally, I find those sewing skills important to master in order to better understand sewing on a machine.
