About Alexandra

I have worked with numerous influencers and dressed them for red carpet events, as well as studied under a few project runway alumni. Unlike other teachers on this platform, I do work as a designer and have showcased my designs in NYFW.

I love helping students to be able to discover their passion for design. As well as to watch their progress as they build up their confidence with the sewing machine.

I started teaching at an ESSA event and have been hooked ever since.

I studied at Mood U under Project Runway Alumni Benjamin Mach. I have worked as a designer for three years and have dress Niki and Gabi DeMartino, Miss Teen New York, Janira Oberlin, Gabby Fe, and many more.

I am certified as a designer through Parsons and regularly take continuing education courses at FIT.

About the lesson

For beginners, the first lesson is focused on the basics of using a sewing machine. Then we move onto the principals of fabric and how to read a pattern. Our first project together will be either a pillow doll, a tote bag, or a messenger bag.

For intermediate students, we move onto the basics of garment construction and work on creating a pencil skirt, bathrobe, or PJ pants.

For advanced students, we work on independent projects or on creating a dress, slacks, or a jumpsuit. This level also learns the basics of draping and pattern creation.

I also offer beginner and intermediate crocheting and amigurumi lessons.

I mostly work with beginners and intermediate level students. They are usually either crafters, hobbyists, and looking to become a fashion designer themselves.

I would tell them to work with someone who they are comfortable with and to review their portfolio. If you are serious about garment construction, try to find a designer whose style is similar to yours.

I am most proud of my first formal collection that I presented last year during NYFW. I had a lot of people tell me how touched they were by my brand's message and received some good press off the back of it.
