About Alex
Alex Shay, a West Virginia native, served in the US Army as a Combat Medic for 10 years. Six years Active Duty and four years Reserve. In his time in the Army, Alex served one 15 month tour of duty in Iraq. In the Army he became a Combat Medic, certified EMT-B. Then became a CPR, AED, CLS, BLS, and First Aid Instructor though the American Heart Association. After returning to the USA, Alex moved to Morgantown WV and attend WVU Pursuing a Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree, during which time he started his own DJ & Event Coordination company Called Total Party Package. After 10 years as a professional DJ. Defense In Depth approached him about Membership and Event Coordination. He took the job and since then he has established incredible in Membership benefits, established the GSSF, Master Academy Cup and has become Glock Armorer Certified, Glock Operator Certified and a USCCA Basic Pistol and Home Defense Certificated.

As an Instructor at Defense In Depth I enjoy the fact that I get to work and training others at the largest and most technologically advance indoor shooting range in West Virginia.
I teach a wide variety of classes and courses. Everything from First Aid, Stop The Bleed, BLS, CLS, AED, and CPR. And of Course I teach a USCCA Conceal Carry Course that is Recognized in 39 out of 50 States when you apply for your Concealed Carry Permit as West Virginia Citizen.
