About Dave
I have been shooting for 40 years and I am 43.
I am an experienced firearms saftey and shooting instructor for the US army, boy scounts (back in the day), black powder randevoux and private students.
My Grandfather was the legenday gunsmith Davy Crockett of Davy Crockett Gun Shop in Pocatello ID. I grew up in his shop.
My saftey record is imucalate, I can show you how to be safe, and not look like a newb at the range or gun shop if you go on your own. Just sain'. You can go to the range, and ask the range operator for 'dot tourcher' targets and know what that means and how to use them. There is a lot more too. I don't know how many students all together, but it's between hundreds and thousands.
Although familiar with procedure and law, I am not a state certified trainer. I am persuing state qualifications at this time.
I have enjoyed every class I have ever given, and are thankful for having the oportunity to do so. No kidding.
All of my students shoot and operate better with minor instruction. I explain, see you do it, give minor corrections, see you do it agin. Until you have the stadard.
If you just can't get it, or have bad habbits I have drills to correct those. If you pratice breathing, sight picture and trigger squeeze you will reliabliy put rounds down range on target with minimal pratice; but correct pratice.
I am light hearted, I love meeting new people, helping people and answering questions.
I am not sure, I have been teaching others how to shoot as long as I can remember.
I have a near lifetime of experience on the topic, giving me a 'Tiger Woods' like apptitude for it. I grew up making lead ball for my grampas shop, and shooting black powder. I learned to shoot, just after learning to walk.
My skills shined in the US Army as a Marksman, and was identified as the guy that could train the people that can't shoot; how to qualify. I trained a large number of soliders that were administrative, or supply clerks and never expected to see combat to qualify. I am not sure how many, ~100
I give this same set of instruction I developed in the Army to my friends. On top of that I run this training class by by very large family of gun saftey experts.

The first lesson is basic firearms saftey, and marksmanship fundamentals.
I need to see you go through that process, using my training weapons.
After that, you can rent your own, or bring your own.
From never touched a gun before to experienced operators. Military and Civilian. Regular citizens that just want to protect themselves.
Go to your local gun shops and stores, ask basic questions. Don't assume anything, and see if they knoiw anyone that is giving training, or who do they go to for training.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you want to own the resoonsability of keeping and bearing arms or not. Not everyone does.
