About Mariana
Music is very central to our lives and brings us all so much happiness, gives us an emotional and creative outlet!
Mastering the piano requires a tremendous amount of coordination, hard work and dedication. And all this cultivates many useful mental skills. It really focuses your mind!
I am classically trained piano teacher with strong work ethic and dedication to students. I have a strong understanding of the subject matter and I am able to communicate that knowledge to students in an engaging way.
I have experience working with students as little as 4 years old. I love working with kids and helping them grow as learners. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed if given the right opportunities and support.
Mariana is a classically trained piano instructor with 5+ years of teaching experience, strong work ethic and dedication to the students. She has a strong understanding of the subject matter and can communicate that knowledge to students in an engaging way. Mariana thinks that mastering the piano requires a tremendous amount of coordination, hard work and dedication, but all this cultivates many useful mental skills and really focuses the mind. Mariana began her musical education in piano and accordion in Ukraine at the age of 8 and after 8 years of devoted learning got her Diploma with distinction. Her Bachelor’s she got from Ukraine as well. She continued her musical journey in Chicago, where she earned her AFA with a concentration in Music Education from HW College and got a Certificate and Illinois State Music Teachers Association Merit Award from Rosevelt University in AIM Exams. She attended numerous music festivals with a concentration on classical piano with world-renowned professors and pianists like Efrem Briskin, Peter Vinograde, Michael Davidman, Massimiliano Mainolfi where she was performing solo as well as in chamber music groups. Mariana has been performing in Indian Boundary Cultural Center, Fine Arts Building, St.Volodymyr School of Ukrainian Studies. She’s been teaching piano lessons to the kids as well as adults. She’s teaching piano classes at Hawthorne Scholastic Academy, LaSalle Language Academy and Nash Elementary School.

In lessons my students and I work together as a team to get best results in musical and technical skills such as aural and keyboard skills, expressive playing, music theoryand technique, musicianship. And my role is to provide each student with knowledge needed to reach those best results as well as motivate them and not let the practice routine become boring and tiresome. It is important for me to help students become independent learners and develop a strong self-confidence with no fear to perform in front of audience, because "everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear".
