About Grace
My passion for singing and musical theatre started when I was in middle school. After years of choir, voice lessons, and theatre, I decided to major in musical theatre at Bryan College.
At Bryan I studied music with an emphasis in musical theatre and vocal performance. Some of my experiences and opportunities during that time include:
-Junior and Senior Vocal Recitals (Under the direction of Dr. David Luther)
-Musical Theatre Showcase (Under the direction of Mrs. Sally Powell)
-Laurey (Soprano Lead) in Roger and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!
-Cinderella in Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods
-Leads in other plays under the direction of Mr. Bernie Belisle
-Featured soloist in three Bryan College Music Department Showcases
-F.R. Rogers Senior Music Award (Given to one senior per year at the completion their music studies)
After graduating from Bryan College in May of 2017, I interned with the Cumberland County Playhouse for a summer. In the fall I started teaching private voice lessons through the Bryan College Community Music School.
I want to help students find their voices and discover the joy of singing. Whether you have been singing for years or weeks, there is always something to work on and improve in. My passion is also to help singers truly become musicians by teaching them the written and aural language of music. In our lessons, we will work on understanding and interpreting songs in order to bring life and emotion into every voice and every piece of music.

First, I'll get to know you a little. We'll talk about your past experiences with singing, what you hope to accomplish, and any goals you may have for the future. After that we'll dive in with posture breathing technique. From there I'll listen to your individual voice and and pinpoint some specific areas for us to start working on!
I have worked with elementary to college students. With younger students I focus on basic techniques and musicianship. With older students, I start to dive into interpretation and specifics of different musical styles.
Always be willing to experiment with your voice and try something new. This is a process that will take time, so if you are serious about improving your singing, you need to be patient and dedicated. Like with any instrument, there will be days of frustration and days of excitement as you train your voice to do what you want it to.
That being said, singing is a skill that you will keep with you for the rest of your life. Singing is fun, and every moment of work you put into developing your voice will be worth it.
