About Isabel

I believe that I stand out as an educator because of my willingness to adapt my teaching style to each student's needs. There is no 'one fix' for any student's voice.

Honestly, I decided to go into Music Education because it creates joy for ME! Every day I cannot wait to meet with my students and work with them.

I started teaching as a volunteer music director for the Beecher Part-Time Players and have loved it ever since!

I have taught privately for four years, currently Co-Direct an ensemble at First United Methodist Church in Champaign, direct musicals each summer, and I am studying Music Education at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

About the lesson

I typically will start with doing a music profile with the students to see their likes/dislikes and to see how much traditional music knowledge they have.

I have mostly worked with beginning students aged 5-14 years old.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should consider what they want to gain from lessons. Specifically, what are your goals going into the experience? Do you want to prepare for a competition? Expand repertoire? Or just learn the basics of singing?

Usually, my pricing is 20$/half an hour. Limiting singing lessons to this amount of time prevents students from straining their voices.
