About Heather

We are women, owned, holistically operated. Hire us for your next production service, singing lesson, performance, or production mentorship and receive a nuanced and unique service for your music.

Heather studied Musical Theatre for 10 years before learning the art of music production, and has since been working in the DAW for 8 years. She was on American Idol, and has had her track 'Tincture' go viral on Spotify. Heather grew up in Santa Cruz, CA singing in children's choir, jazz choir, singing competitions and music festivals. She also studied at Clive David Institute for Recorded Arts at NYU, received her Bachelor's from University of Washington, and studied expressive Arts Therapy at Tamalpa School in Marin, CA. She is a certified yoga instructor, and has originated college courses on mind-body connection.

We honor each student for exactly where they are in age, ability, and understanding. We can walk you through and meet you where your needs are, helping you to gain confidence to go to your next level.

My mother was a schoolteacher, so I always had the drive in me. Since I started performing at age 9, I always felt a similar passion for being on the stage, and for teaching! I began directing kids in musical theatre and talent shows when I was a pre-teen, and it all seemed to unfold from there.

I have a BA in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, I have a certificate from the Clive Davis Institute of Recording Arts at NYU, and I am studied in Anna Halprin's work of Expressive Arts Therapy at Tamalpa Institute.

About the lesson

We do a consultation to see where the student is at, and what exactly they are needing. I follow a check-in protocol, zooming in from a large-scale perspective of the student's overarching goals, to get nitty gritty into the details and give them some takeaway to-do's by the end of our session.

I work with mostly adults now, though I have worked with children! I love to engage with anyone who has the passion and the heart for the craft.

Teaching at the Shakti Sound music production retreat for women was life-changing. It happened in Costa Rica, and was over 60 women strong. I taught a class on 'Vocal Production in Ableton', and we went into everything from preparing our physical vocal channel to treating our vocal channel in the DAW. I also had many one-on-one mentorship dropins with students, and set against the backdrop of a thriving jungle, these sessions just came alive for us all.
