About Lisa
Are you looking for a way to stay creative and focused on your musical theatre goals?
Are you missing performing? Come study with me and let’s work your musical muscles during this difficult time when we can’t be doing live theatre!
Who am I and why should you take my class?
I’m a multi-award winning singer & actress. I have a New York Nightlife Award, a Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs Award (MAC) and a BackStage Bistro Award, all for Outstanding Female Vocalist in recognition of my solo work in cabaret clubs in New York City. I also do a lot of directing, coaching and teaching. I have directed shows off Broadway, for the NY Fringe Festival, at regional theatres, in Cabarets, Clubs and even in my own living room! I’m a four time nominee for a MAC Award for Outstanding Director. I’ve taught Master Classes in Song Interpretation around the country and I’ve also worked extensively with students at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (aka the FAME school) in NYC.
My work as a performer includes the following: National tours: The Who’s Tommy, Woody Guthrie’s American Song. Regional theatres include Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Marin Theatre Company, Adirondack Theatre Festival, Arts Center of the Coastal Carolinas, Missouri Rep and the Tony Award Winning Denver Center Theatre Company. Off Broadway: Woody Guthrie’s American Song for Melting Pot Theatre (Drama Desk Nom Best Musical), numerous NYMF and Fringe shows.
Over my years in NYC I have studied with many great teachers: Betty Buckley (TONY award for CATS, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Sunset Boulevard ), Joe Mantello (dir. Wicked, Assassins) and Award Winning Composer Craig Carnelia (Working, Is There Life After High School, Sweet Smell of Success) to name a few. They each gave me valuable tools to use for acting through a song. Those tools are what I’ll be sharing with you in our work together.
I also have taught Vocal Technique at the prestigious The Voice Studio in NYC. My focus is working on placement to achieve a healthy singing voice that can have you singing 8 Broadway shows a week and not be vocally spent.

I look forward to working with you!
I love teaching and coaching! I love watching a performer think of a new way to interpret a lyric, find a new way to place a note, discover the deep well of imagination they have at their disposal. It's fulfilling to me and very exciting to watch and experience!

Before we have our first session I like to meet for 30 mins or so just to chat about what the students goals are and what they feel they really need to work on. Then I can tailor our work to meet the studients specific goals. I find that one on one work fuctions best when it's specificially focused in the individual student.
