About Marissa
Hello and welcome! As an avid singer in both the Seattle and New York City area, I have had a wide range of experience singing in both classical, musical theater, and choral settings. Whether you have specific concerns about your vocal technique or function, or you are interested in working on any current repertoire, I work to make lessons that are tailored to you. I've been teaching private lessons since 2017, and I absolutely love working with students. In addition to singing, I can also help with music theory, language and diction coaching, and musicality. I have a Bachelors's degree in Vocal Performance and am currently working on my Master of Music degree from the prestigious Mannes School of Music in New York City.
I have performed over ten leading operatic roles, given multiple song recitals, and have taken lessons with some of the most distinguished singers and teachers in the world. I have also sung at world-class concert halls, such as Benaroya Hall, Scorca Hall in the National Opera Center, and Carnegie Hall.
I have a passion for helping students of all ages and experience levels increase their confidence through singing. I love learning new things, and love working with all voice students!

I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Pacific Lutheran University and am currently completing my Master of Music degree at the prestigious Mannes School of Music in New York City.
Additionally, I have had positions in professional choirs as a member of the ensemble and as a soloist, and have sung 13 full operatic roles. I bring this performance experience and educational experience from working with some of the most incredible professional musicians in the field to my students.

I love to get to know the student and what their goals are. Then we go through a few vocal exercises to see what their range and vocal abilities are, and then we begin selecting repertoire or working on what they currently have.
I always send the student a detailed post-lesson "summary" after their lessons with the concepts, music, and exercises we worked on so that they can have everything they need after their lessons and are practicing on their own.
I have worked with avocational adults, young children, and middle school/high school students as well as professional singers and aspiring professionals.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try as best as possible to come up with some goals that you want to bring to your teacher so that they can find the best way to help you. Voice Lessons are an investment and you want to make the most out of it!
