About Tris

I have been tutoring within an academic setting since high school, where I was part of the inaugural team leading our student-run 1-2-1 Spanish tutoring for all students up to AP Spanish 4. While at NYU, I continued to tutor for those who were in beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes, while also acting as the artistic director and co-editor of the annual journal published by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, which included curated texts from students at all levels, including those advancing to a Masters in Spanish Language.

My time pursing my Masters at the Royal College of Art in London introduced me to a more direct method of teaching, consisting primarily of tutor-tutee sessions and small crits. Through this instruction I have developed a concise line of questioning and engagement with peers, as well as having refined my practice through responsive critique and self-inquisition.

While pursing my studies at all levels, I have worked primarily for Fujifilm Corporation, both in New York and London. As a manager of a store for Fujifilm in New York, I was responsible for the on-boarding of new staff, training them on all products (cameras, lenses, film) and in the lab to maintain technical perfection, as well as practical application for customers. In London, I was brought into a new store location as a print technician to train their members of staff.

About the lesson

Spanish: I have worked with students ages 14-24, from beginner's Spanish 1 up to Bachelor's level Spanish. My tutoring has consisted primarily of 1 to 1 sessions with students coming to me with a specific area or lesson that they need help with. I have also peer reviewed essays and articles for publication.

Photography/Editing Software: I have worked with all ages in 1 to 1 and group lesson settings. These have been students and workers within the professional field.

Spanish:

My hourly rate ranges from $15-$40 an hour. This is based on whether a student is currently enrolled in a Spanish Language course, which affects how much material of my own I will need to provide. This rate also varies depending on how frequently you are looking for tutoring. I am happy to negotiate discounted rates for multiple sessions a week and/or for recurring tutoring sessions.

Photography/Adobe Programs

My hourly rate ranges from $30-$50 an hour. This also varies depending on whether or not a student is currently enrolled in a course. This is also affected by whether or not the student is looking for a specfic outcome (i.e. making a book for publication, preparing for an exhibition, etc.) and how advanced the desired skillset is.
