About Juan
I am a very patient person who loves supporting people and also understands how to teach languages effectively. I was born in Colombia and have been teaching languages since 2019. No formal qualifications but I've been successful so far coaching people who want to learn both English and Spanish.
My linkedin is (concealed information)
I love seeing the progression in learning and helping people see that they can achieve more than they thought they were capable of at the beginning of their journey.
I started teaching languages volunteering at a community center in Chicago that focuses on latino migrants.
I don't have formal training, but a lot of confidence in my knowledge of the Spanish and English languages and a good disposition to teach and to be patient with every person.

English
I do a conversational test trying to figure out what the student already knows and see what gaps need to be filled. If the student is new to the language I start from the ground and build with general grammar in order to get them creating their own sentences as soon as possible.
I've worked with young adults and older adults. I've had both groups of people say that they really enjoy my style of teaching and that I'm very patient.
