About Christine
I am a college student pursuing a bachelors degree in Hispanic language and literature at CUNY Queens College, with an interest to pursue further study in a Ph.D program. Having exposure to classic literary works of the Spanish speaking world and volunteer experience with teens and children, I can teach in a structuralist approach of reading, writing and speaking basic Spanish while also taking on non-structuralist methods like playing games and celebrating Hispanic holidays with arts and crafts, some dancing, and cooking.
My passion for teaching Spanish comes from being raised in a Peruvian immigrant household--the language itself has been my way of connecting with my family and many friends. In teaching Spanish, my aim is to provide Hispanic students a space to connect with their heritage and non-Hispanic students to explore the cultures of Latin America and Spain.
