About Denise

Native from Barcelona, I speak Catalan and Spanish as my first language. I have tutored teenagers in NYC for 2 years and would love to continue to do so in LA. I'm a graduate from Adelphi University with and Acting and Philosophy dregree.

I love teaching anything! When I was younger in High School I started teaching my classmates when they had trouble learning things. Growing up, I figured teaching something that I love and comes easy to me such as my first language would be a lot of fun.

6 years of teaching languages. Native of Barcelona.

About the lesson

Getting to know them and the way they learn best. We are all different and we assimilate things in different ways. It's about finding out what works best for each individual and making it a fun process.

From 13 years old to 40 years old

Make sure you hire somebody who is a native and will know how to teach the language. Speaking a language and being able to teach it are two different things.

Somebody I tutored that was about to drop our of High School finished their degree and is going to Law School. They sent me a message saying that if it wans't for me they would have never made it!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should be open about ANYTHING concerning their needs. There is no such thing as a silly question, so ask away whatever you need!
