About Claudia

I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, South America. I arrived to Saint Louis, MO 24 years ago and did not speak English. I understand how hard is to learn a new language. It is a long process but it is a very rewarding experience.

I had worked for many local companies doing interpretations and translations. This year, I decided to become a tutor. I believe that a language cannot be taught, it can only be learned. If you want me as your tutor, it means that you have decided to learn Spanish.

Gracias y mucha suerte.

Claudia

Teaching Spanish is the perfect job for me. I get to share my enthusiasm for language, etymology, and cultures. I have found that my talent is for getting students curious and excited about learning a language, and for helping those who think they just can't get it, to get it.

I started teaching by chance. Many of my friends asked me to tutor them and their kids.

I have worked for many local companies doing translation and interpretations jobs. Teaching comes naturally to me.

About the lesson

Teaching is much like coaching in that it isn't always the best players that are the best coaches. There is a talent for knowing a subject and being able to relate it to others.

I have worked with many types of students. Via E-learning and in person. Ages 4 to 50.

Teaching is much like coaching in that it isn't always the best players that are the best coaches. There is a talent for knowing a subject and being able to relate it to others.

I time when one of my 4-year-old students learn the "Hola" song. He looked a little distracted while singing the song during tutoring, but when he was ready to leave started to sing the song.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Am I motivated to learn the subject?

2. Am I curious?

3. Why do I want to learn?

4. How do you want to use the language?

5. How will it improve your life?
