About Jennifer

I'm a native Spanish speaker from Guatemala, "All about Spanish" was created when I noticed I was proficient in Spanish grammar as well as orthography, and that this knowledge was helping my friends, family and work teammates.

My program is personalized with each student. My classes last from 30 mins, 1 hr or 2hrs depending on your schedule. I will use different online tools such as google tests, Kahoot, Prezi among others to keep track of your progress and try to work (with an honest interest) around and toward your personal goals.

I like to enjoy the tiny achievements from each student's progress. From the moment when Spanish clicks with their native language to the moment of excitement when they actually understand a movie, their favorite song, or a conversation they heard.

Since I was little, I found a particular interest in the Spanish language. I was fascinated by grammar rules, exceptions, and so on.

I noticed the constant need to polish my writing and create correct sentences in my daily living.

Growing up, I learned English; and the impetus to help my close friends learn the language was born. There I created "English like a boss", a free program for friends, 2 days a week virtually.

Despite not having any pedagogical certification to teach Spanish, I consider myself a person capable of teaching the language that I love so much, in the order that will help to learn it in an efficient and lasting way.

About the lesson

1. Knowing each other and exchanging objectives: Understand the student's goals is going to allow to create and provide a learning program with effective strategies that fit their own objectives.

2. Help them see: Help them to see what’s possible in the assignment, how the work can benefit them, and most crucially that they’re capable of doing that important work and that I'm there for them when they waver.

3. Teach diagnostically: Once I understand the genius and gift that each student has, I mold a teaching method that fits the ability of each person to progress.

4. Design the learning to last: The best way to get the key of a new language is to create a sense of self discovery and curiosity for the gained knowledge, this way the student will proactively dig deeper in their free time.

5. Give them personalized feedback: Whether they’re taking a test, finishing a homework, or doing something entirely out-of-the-box, the more precise, well-timed, and thoughtful the learning feedback, the better chance they have to do their best work.

I've worked with students ages 19 - 25 to 50 - 55 years old.
