About Sophia

Hola! My name is Sophia and I am a fluent spanish speaker currently in my Junior year of high school 📚 There is nothing I love more than spreading my admiration for the Spanish language and teaching others about the diverse and beautiful culture. I am half Colombian and have visited Colombia multiple times which has been the most incredible learning experience 🇨🇴 Since kindergarten I have been selected to be in dual language classes and I am currently in the highest Spanish class possible for a High Schooler (AP Spanish Literature). With this, my strengths definitely lie in elementary level Spanish to AP Spanish Language and most importantly preparing for the AP test (I scored a 5). Finally I hold leadership positions in both La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica and Spanish club at my High School. I can't wait to help you grow your Spanish speaking skills🌟

Within the Spanish culture there is an abundance of opportunities awaiting you. I would not only love to help a student out with learning the grammatical essence of the language but also the incredible culture that it is a part of. One of my passions is to use my skill set to help those around me which I am so happy to do⭐️

I grew up in a Spanish-Speaking household with my mom being fully Colombian. With this, I have been learning Spanish since a very early age and began in the dual-language program at my school in kindergarten. Since then I have been taking Spanish every year of schooling and as a Junior in High School I am at the highest Spanish level possible (AP Spanish Literature). To add onto this I took my AP Spanish Language exam last year and scored a 5. 💫

About the lesson

Most importantly, my priority is to really get to know the student, what their goals are, and what skill set they already have. This will allow me to be fully prepared in lesson planning/activities that will allow the student to grow as much as possible.🌟

Most recently I have worked with tutoring kids in elementary level Spanish courses.✨
