About Fatima
I got started teaching my fellow ESL students English as I saw that the program focused more on worksheets and memorizations rather than teaching us the language. While I was already fluent because I had been born in the U.S many of my classmates had just moved to the U.S which meant that their understanding was nonexistent. Teaching them became more than just helping them memorize as I wanted to give them comfort and the respect that they deserved to be in charge of their education, not the worksheets given.
I am fluent in both Spanish and English and given that I recently graduated with an MBA in History, I had to fully grasp skills involving English writing including grammar, spelling, and styles. Moreso, I have tutored students ranging from elementary children all the way to university students.

I ask questions about what they are comfortable with, what they aren't, and what they don't know and I take into account their own experiences to see how to change my style that fits to them. Students need to feel comfortable with their possible tutors and having to prove or test their knowledge is not a way to get it.
Be comfortable with any possible tutor, while it's important for the tutor to push your knowledge to learn you are the person that understands where those limits are. Talk with them to modify how fast or slow the lessons need to be, ask questions on anything you are confused about and know that it is you that is in charge of your learning.
