About Martha
I am a Georgia certified teacher and have taught eleemtnary students with disabilities for 25 years. My class is language based and focused heavily on communication and social skills. I provide many modifications and accomodations for my students so they are able to learn the various state standards. I believe hands on, interactive lessons increase student learning. Visual scedules and picture cue cards also assist in student learning, understanding, and participation.
Everyone learns at different rates. It might take a while to before a student experiences the "I got it" moment, but it does happen. I am patient and caring and won't stop until we reach that "I got it" moment.
I love seeing my students' eyes light up when they realize they learned a new concept. In those small moments, their world opens up a little bit more.
