About Ali
I specialise in tutoring students for the 11 plus exams with over 15 years of experience working in schools as well as with private clients. In particular, if your child is sitting the ISEB Common Pre-Test, I can help them prepare.
Background
My tutoring journey began during my time at one of the best grammar schools in the country where I helped numerous students prepare for the highly competitive entrance exam. Since then, I have assisted hundreds of students in gaining entry to some of the best senior schools in the UK (and a few in Switzerland!).
My strong academic background consists of 10 A* grades at GCSE, A*AA in maths, physics and economics at A-Level, a Honours degree in economics from UCL and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. CFA is a widely regarded as the toughest qualification in finance, with low pass rates and requiring over 1000 hours of studying alongside working full time.
These courses have provided me with first hand knowledge of effective study techniques, how to organise exam preparation and dealing with the pressure of an important upcoming exam.
I have a proven track record both in terms of qualifications and the results of my students. I articulate complex ideas in simple ways and look to engage, interact and get the best out of children. I spend a lot of time preparing for my lessons to ensure they are relevant and fun, with use of humour and anecdotes to bring everything to life.
