About Madison

Passionate about swimming and teaching others to swim! I have worked at West Mesa pool, Kirtland family housing pool, and Tennis Club of Albuquerque.

- Red Cross CPR certified

- Red Cross water safety certified

- 6+ years experience competitive swimming

- 5 years experience teaching lessons

I enjoy teaching and sharing a great sport with the individuals I work with

I was a lifeguard at West Mesa Aquatic Center and went through their teaching program where I learned the most effective ways to teach. Before that I was a swimmer so I'm familiar with the technique and it is a passion of mine.

I have competed in swimming for four years in High School and in a private club. I have been a lifeguard for five years where I have been trained in teaching lessons as well as water safety, first aid, CPR etc. I have coached a metro team for two years so I work very well with children!

About the lesson

Generally I try and get the student comfortable in the water with different exercises, focusing on water safety. Then when I'm positive the student is ready, I focus on strokes and competitive swimming.

I have worked with all ages from 3 to 18 as well as adults. I have dealt with autistic students and those with ADHD.

I charge $30 per hour. I would recommend at least four hours a week but of course it is up to the student and the pace they would like to learn at.
