About Stephanie

When my parents would take us to the pool and I would see the lifeguards on the stand I always knew I wanted to become a lifeguard so when I turned 16 I visited my hometown's YMCA and I spoke with the pool manager and she offered me a job ever. Since then I new teaching and saving peoples life was some thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life and till this day I still teach swimming lessons it's been 11 years now and I wouldn't change it for the world.

As of right now I'm in school to get my bachelors degree in education so teaching has always been my passion whether it's in the water or it's at a school. I have so much love for teaching.

About the lesson

First things first for my older student I ask what are their weaknesses and what are their strengths. For the little ones I have fun activities that will help me have a better understanding of where they are in swimming and that will help me determine what I need to work on with them.

I've worked with every type of student from students with disabilities to babies to even adults I teach all ages starting from six months to 77+.

My advice is to find someone with passion, love and patience because anybody can teach swimming lessons but not everybody can have the patience to get it done right.

I haven't had any recently because of how crazy the world has been these past couple of years.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe student should just be opened about their struggles because that's the only way I as a teacher will understand what limits to push and how to prevent students from being more afraid of the water.
