About Michaela

Hi there! My name is Michaela, I'm looking forward to meeting you all but for now I'll tell you a bit about myself. I am originally from South Florida and have been living in Long Beach for almost 2 years. I have been passionate about working with children throughout my whole life. I am currently employed as a behavioral therapist working with children on the autism spectrum and related diagnosis.

My swim career began in 2013 when I worked as a swim instructor for a swim school. After going away for college I began to teach private 1:1 lessons when I returned to my hometown on my holiday breaks. Now that the weather is warming up, I am excited to get back into teaching swim lessons on the west coast for the first time 💫 can't wait to meet your little swimmers! In high school I was on the swim team. I began to work for a swim school and once I moved to go to college I began teaching my own private lessons

We will begin with floating on your back then being able to roll onto your front and make it to the wall. Once the student is confident with that we will proceed to free style swimming various distances. Then if client would like we can continue with backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly

About the lesson

For the first few lessons the student will be getting familiar and comfortable with me and with being in the water

I have worked with babies as young as three months all the way to adults. I have also had plenty of experience teaching special needs and am a certified behavioral therapist

Look for someone that makes you feel safe and comfortable, has a positive attitude and has experience working with children in high stress environments
