About Marcia
I have taught across a variety of populations and recognize and specialize in one on one in depth, individual learning. No person learns like another and often large classes are restrictive and leave one out. I am a certified clinician in speech language pathology, and have worked with hearing, language, speech different learners of all ages. I taught speech pathology in public school, and retired as a private school second grade teacher. I also taught first grade, and pre school. I have a BA From Texas Tech, a MA from WTAMU and a one year fellowship for CCC from the national speech, hearing, and language association for a Clinical Competency Certificate. I do have a linked in profile and of course copies of mymteaching certificate, all degrees, and certificates. My master degree thesis was a comparative study of stuttering among groups of children who were considered to be learning different, stutterers, lower iq, and no problem. I presented the project in San Francisco at the convention. By the way, all the three groups, except the identified stutterers were essentially tje same.
It allows,me to do what I know and allow others to become successful at something they did not feel they could,be successful doing.
I graduated
All of my work experience for 35 years has been involved with education, its evolution for the good and the not so good. Some of the old school methods were most difficult for teachers, but were most effective tools for learners for a building block style of learning. Over the years, i hasve been able to see a lot of old and new ways that gain hype without a lot of real success. It is nice to be able to use the valuable, discard themuseless.

This is a new experience as I have always worked in a classroom with children. I always make certain that I focus on tHe feelings of anxiety and separation that anymchild has in a new situation. Those are the walls that need to fall before trust can be built an progress will begin.
