Welcome to Abid Tennis Training & Consulting! Situated in the vibrant St Petersburg , FL, I offer personalized tennis lessons designed to elevate your game. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, my tailored approach ensures that you develop the skills you need to succeed on the court. I started teaching after my playing career, drawing on my experience as a former UCLA student-athlete and ATP-ranked player. I began coaching in Los Angeles, working with both adults and juniors, and really enjoyed helping players understand the game and improve their skills. Over time, coaching became something I genuinely enjoyed, and I’ve continued teaching while developing my own coaching style and approach.

I have been teaching competitve Juniors for 10 years.

My higtest ATP ranknig was 360.

I was ranked 17 in the world in the Juniors.

I Played number 1 for UCLA (2006-2010).

About the lesson

I take a different approach for every student based on their needs and goals. Based on my experience, I can quickly recognize a student's strengths and weaknesses and develop a detailed plan for their training.

I work with all types of students. I enjoy working with sutdents who wnat to imporve and have fun on the tennis court.

Look for a coach who has both strong playing experience and the ability to communicate and teach at your level. A great player isn’t necessarily a great teacher, so pay attention to how the coach explains things, whether they listen to your goals, and whether they adapt their approach to your game.

It’s also worth taking a trial lesson before committing to a package. You should leave the lesson feeling like you learned something specific and have a clear idea of what you need to work on. Finally, find someone whose personality and coaching style you enjoy—you’ll improve much faster with a coach you trust and look forward to working with.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my goals? Am I looking to improve my overall game, compete, get back into tennis, or simply have more fun?

What part of my game needs the most work? For example, serve, consistency, movement, strategy, or mental game.

What is my current level? Be honest about your experience and how often you currently play.

How often do I want to take lessons? Once a week, multiple times a week, or occasionally?

What type of coaching do I prefer? Technical instruction, live-ball drills, match play, strategy, or a combination.

What am I hoping to get out of each lesson? Having a clear expectation helps the coach design sessions around you.

What is my budget and availability? This helps determine whether private lessons, group lessons, or a combination makes the most sense.

Most importantly, be open about your goals and what you feel you struggle with. A good coach can then build a plan that is specific to you rather than giving you a one-size-fits-all lesson.
