About Brendan
Hello! I'm a dedicated fourth-year Biochemistry student at UCLA, with a passion for guiding students towards academic excellence. Having achieved a 99th percentile on the MCAT (522), a 3.9 college GPA, getting accepted to medical school, and excelling in subjects like Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry, I bring a strong foundation to my tutoring sessions. With two years of experience providing personalized one-on-one instruction to friends and family, both in-person and online, I've honed my ability to tailor lessons to individual learning styles. While In the past I only tutored middle school and high school students, I am also open to tutoring children of any age.
My teaching philosophy is centered around hands-on engagement. I believe in fostering critical thinking by posing questions and encouraging students to actively work through problems. Rather than simply providing answers, I empower my students to explore concepts and build a deeper understanding. Additionally, I understand the importance of effective study habits and goal-setting.
