About Swastik

Hi, I'm Swastik - Your Pre-Algebra Tutor Who Makes Math Make Sense

Getting to Know Me

I'm a rising junior in high school from Princeton, New Jersey, and I'm genuinely passionate about making mathematics accessible and exciting. While I've had the incredible opportunity to work on AI cancer detection systems at Harvard Medical School and compete in global machine learning competitions, what I love most is that moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. There's nothing quite like seeing someone go from "I hate math" to "Wait, that actually makes sense!"

What It's Like Working With Me

My students often tell me that I'm different from other tutors because I actually get what it's like to be their age while bringing real-world experience they can connect with. I'm patient—my experience tutoring individuals with autism has taught me that everyone learns differently, and I genuinely enjoy finding the approach that works best for each person.

In our sessions, you'll find that I'm:

Encouraging without being condescending - I remember what it's like to struggle with concepts

Practical and relevant - I show you exactly how pre-algebra appears in everything from video game programming to medical research

Flexible - If one explanation doesn't work, we'll try another approach until it clicks

Invested in your success - Your progress genuinely matters to me, and I celebrate every breakthrough with you

Why I'll Excel as Your Tutor

My unique combination of advanced STEM experience and peer-level understanding creates the perfect tutoring environment. I've mastered complex mathematical concepts in real applications—from programming surgical robotics to analyzing biological data—which means I truly understand how pre-algebra foundations connect to advanced mathematics.

More importantly, I've learned that the best teaching happens when students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My leadership roles as team captain and club president have taught me how to create environments where people feel confident to learn and grow.

What Makes Our Partnership Special

When you work with me, you're not just getting homework help—you're gaining a mentor who has walked the path from basic algebra to cutting-edge research applications. I'll show you not just how to solve problems, but why these concepts matter and where they can take you.

Ready to transform your relationship with mathematics? Let's make pre-algebra your strong foundation for future success!
