I have 35 years of teaching experience. I teach students from 6 years old to adult -- beginning to advanced.

About the lesson

Finding out their goals. Checking out their instrument. Asking potential students about intended practice time. Showing the student how to hold the left arm, then the violin, begin plucking the violin. Determing which music to use.

All types -- those with and without prior music training. Beginning to Advanced, all ages from 2 and a half years of age to 81. One Alzheimer student (77) and 2 or 3 learning challenged children. Both talented and not so talented students.

Trial lesson is a good idea. I give a free 1st lesson.

Those of my students who want to are given the chance to play in my adult or young people's recitals 4-5 times per year.

Several parents mentioned to me at the last Young people's recital 2 weeks ago how much they appreciate that I have these recitals.

Some of my students have recently agreed to practice more.

Do they realize that playing the violin is generally difficult.

Are they interested in classical, fiddle, or other styles.
