About Jordan
I have worked as an English tutor since 2017, although I have experience with various other subjects, including history, social studies, and creative writing.
Most recently, I have been worked as a tutor at the UW-Milwaukee Writing Center. There, I have collaborated with undergraduate and graduate students on outlining, drafting, and editing.
As a college instructor, I have taught courses in:
-Research and Writing Methods
-Film, Television, and New Media History
-Business Writing
Currently polishing a 250-page dissertation about American television.
I also have several years' experience as a professional journalist for an array of mainstream publications, and as a reviewer and editor for scholarly journals.

I embrace helping students, from middle-school to the college level and beyond, with creative projects, essays, and assignments. I also specialize in drafting résumés and cover letters, crafting college entrance essays, and preparing for essays on standardized tests.
I love focusing my lessons on:
1) forging outlines that direct the shape of the work
2) engaging in research in a smart, productive manner
3) teaching creative approaches to writing and editing that will stay with the learner for life
4) ensuring writers find joy and confidence in their own voice
My services are recommended for students in 7th grade and up. My schedule is flexible. Mobile within and near Milwaukee County.
