About Elbert

I am a yoga instructor and running coach. My programs are focused on meeting your speficifc fitness goals through proper body alignment, breath work and injury prevention. Get ready to sweat, restore and most importantly: HAVE FUN!

Fitness, health and well being are my passions in life. To be able to share this with the world and make a career for myself, I am very fortunate.

My background is in hospitality where I worked as training manager. I love working with and meeting new people. I felt the need to contribute to society in a more meaningful way. To be able to help individuals achieve their health and fitness goals brings fulfillment and meaning to me. This is the process in how I arrived to be a teacher.

About the lesson

We will always begin with an introduction session where I get the opportunity to learn about your health and fitness goals-short and long term. I will then share with you my expertise and perform an intake and body assessment. I will then lead you through an introductory class so you can experience my teaching style and see firsthand what we will be building upon to achieve your goals.

I have a wide variety of students. Some are non competitive athletes who are training for specific races: triathalons, marathons etc. Other students come to me for a weekly cross training to their already set fitness regiment. With these students, I lead them on a dynamic Vinyasa flow class where you work hard, sweat and relax. I also have clients who are overweight and lead sedentary lifestyles. In these cases, I work with them to build strength, stamina and energy and combine a Vinayasa flow class with restorative yoga poses.

There are many teachers who all have their individual styles and areas of expertise. Find someone who you feel a connection with and are comfortable having conversations. It's best to connect with an instructor who will be able to meet you where you are at in your current physical state and then will be able to motivate and encourage you to accomplish your goals.

I am currently on a mission to run 12 marathons in the year 2017. Thus far, I've completed 11 and have 1 more marathon remaining in the year to accomplish my goal.
