About Carrissa

I teach all different varieties of yoga, meditation, and sound healing.

What I enjoy the most about my job is helping people cope with stress in normal daily life situations and through chaos times. Showing a d teaching how to relax and be calm.

Basic introduction of the class with a five to ten minute warm up of the body (depending on the type of class), then getting into the flow of the class, the a five to ten minute cool down of the body to Savasana or seated meditative posture.

About the lesson

Getting to know the student. Fill a body assessment and always ask if there is any past or formal histories of injuries.

Seniors, children 5 and up, teens and adults.

Children & Adults with special needs.

Look for honesty, knowledge, and passion for yoga and it's benefits to the body mind and soul. I do highly recommend students that just became teachers just because of their fresh knowledge because yoga changes every single day there is always something to learn from even a beginner yoga teacher. There is always room for improvement since every teacher teaches and learns all at the same time.

When I first got my certification as a 200 hour yoga teacher I had my first class that I had to present to the school. And these particular students were family in a good group of friends. I began my class with my basic and simple sitting meditation for 5 minutes and gradually started to move into flow with a warm-up of the spine and then eventually began to flow in a seated vinyasa practice. The class was only a 30 minute class and every student did very well and enjoyed the class. I was very fond of the way the whole class went since it was my first class before certification.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should always think of their health think about any past injuries or current injuries they may have. Think of any health issues they may have such as an aneurysm, heart disease, COPD and the like. Is very important to speak with the yoga teacher or instructor with any case of injury or health issues so that the teacher is aware of certain poses that these students may or may not be able to succumb. Safety and health is a top priority as a yoga teacher and for the student alike.
